Elizabethtown Area School District Receives $80,000 Grant to Enhance High School Esports Program
The Elizabethtown Area School District has received an $80,000 state grant, secured through the advocacy of State Senator James Malone, to create a dedicated space for the Elizabethtown Area High School Esports team. The investment will provide students with a permanent home for practice and competition while supporting the program's continued growth.
The Elizabethtown Area School Board has appointed Tom Strickler as Superintendent, effective July 1, 2026. Strickler, who currently serves as Interim Superintendent and Chief Financial & Operations Officer, brings extensive leadership experience in education, operations, and fiscal management. The Board cited his knowledge of the district, commitment to students, and focus on organizational excellence as key factors in its decision.

First Day of School – Monday, August 31
The first day of school for students in the Elizabethtown Area School District will be Monday, August 31. All schools will operate on an early dismissal schedule. Families are encouraged to review back-to-school information and school-specific communications prior to the start of the new school year.
Elizabethtown Area High School Celebrates the Class of 2026
